Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina says things are “all good” for the US Open after a heel injury forced her to retire from her Cincinnati WTA semi-final last week.

Rybakina Prepares for Grand Slam After Injury Setback

Elena Rybakina is optimistic about her performance as she prepares for the final Grand Slam of the season, despite recent injury concerns. The Kazakh player reported feeling well after resuming practice and is making necessary adjustments ahead of her matches.

“We’re still making some adjustments, but overall I’m happy with how we dealt with the problem,” Rybakina stated on Saturday. She emphasized her focus on maintaining health and taking it one match at a time, rather than concentrating on rankings.

Following her painful exit from the Cincinnati Open against Iga Swiatek, Rybakina took a week off to seek medical advice. She experienced significant discomfort that made even walking difficult. “It wasn’t easy because we didn’t know exactly how the foot was going to react,” she explained.

Rybakina’s commitment to staying healthy is evident as she approaches the upcoming tournament, indicating that the fear of aggravating her injury will not affect her performance.
