Fortnite Ranked mode gives players an added incentive beyond simply securing a victory in an individual match. Rather than being placed against opponents of widely different skill levels, the mode generally matches players with others around a similar rank.
Epic Games uses a points-based system to determine a player’s progression, with matches in both Battle Royale and Zero Build contributing to their rank. The competition becomes considerably tougher once players reach Platinum and Diamond. At these levels, players typically have a stronger understanding of positioning, rotations, editing and overall game sense. You can also expect more organized squads, smarter resource usage and improved accuracy. Performance in each match affects a player’s Hype total, which can increase or decrease depending on how they perform. Instead of simply showing progress toward another division, the system displays a player’s position among other Unreal-ranked competitors.
