Skip Bertman’s legacy transcends his collegiate coaching achievements, significantly shaping youth baseball in the Baton Rouge area. His influence is particularly evident in the numerous young athletes who grew up idolizing his LSU Tiger teams. Each summer, Bertman’s baseball camps have inspired countless boys to pursue their dreams in the sport. In this capacity, Bertman oversaw the LSU football team, during which coach Nick Saban led the team to victory in the 2003 national championship. Following his resignation as LSU baseball coach, Bertman transitioned into an administrative position, taking on the role of athletics director at LSU.
