Gogel Suspended for Six Months by PGA Tour
The PGA Tour has announced that golfer Gogel has been suspended from competition for six months due to violations of its betting policy. According to the Tour, Gogel placed bets on golf competitions but did not wager on events in which he participated. The Tour confirmed this in a tweet, stating, “Gogel placed bets on PGA TOUR competition but did not bet on tournaments in which he was a participant.”
Gogel fully cooperated with the investigation and disciplinary process, as noted by the Tour. In a statement, Gogel acknowledged the suspension, asserting that he did not knowingly intend to breach the league’s rules. He explained, “In 2024 and 2025, I unknowingly violated the PGA Tour policy by placing small, recreational wagers on golf.”
He clarified that these wagers were not placed on regular PGA Tour events, PGA Tour Champions events, or any tournaments where he was a participant.
