New Delhi – Renowned Dutch drag-flick expert Taeke Taekema has joined the senior Indian women’s hockey squad for a specialized training camp. This camp, concentrating on drag-flicking techniques and effective penalty corner execution, is being held during their current tour of Australia and New Zealand.

A former member of the Netherlands national team, he showcased his skills in several key international competitions, including the Olympic Games and the FIH Hockey World Cups.
The Indian team is set to arrive in New Zealand on June 3, where they will continue their preparations with a series of practice matches leading up to the Nations Cup.

In preparation for the tournament in Auckland, India recently completed a friendly series consisting of four matches against Australia at the Perth Hockey Stadium from May 26 to 30. The series concluded in a 2-2 draw, with both teams securing victories in two matches apiece.
